About Us
Finding Inspiration in Every Turn
At Future Speakers Initiative, we believe that communication is power, and every student deserves the tools to use it. In a world where opportunities are often shaped by access and privilege, strong speaking and argumentation skills should not be reserved for the few.

Founded by Yashnil Mohanty, FSI was created to bridge the gap in speech and debate education by offering accessible, high-quality programs that don’t just teach students how to speak, but how to lead. What sets us apart is our focus on advocacy: empowering middle schoolers to find their voice, speak out on the issues they care about, and become changemakers in their communities. We don’t just build confident speakers. We aim to nurture the next generation of civic leaders.
Our Story
Competing for Westmont High School, we saw firsthand how disparities in funding and resources impact students’ ability to compete on equal footing. Many middle schoolers in underfunded schools never get the chance to experience debate, practice public speaking, or sharpen their critical thinking, skills that are crucial for academic success, career advancement, and self-advocacy. This inequality creates a cycle where students from wealthier backgrounds become more articulate and confident, while students from disadvantaged communities struggle to find their voice.
